Thank you

We are getting good weather and the pressure is off for the year. Time to reflect and relax.

Before I head off I want to thank the Artists and the Venues; Marshall Family Law, Great Southern Specialist Centre and the office of Rebecca Stephens and Alannah MacTiernan, who have made this year huge for the Art Lease Project.

From my family to yours, I wish you all good health and the joy of creativity for 2023

….now I get to do some venturing and sound recording!

Art Lease Project

Thank you to all of the artist that submitted work for the next collections. Very exciting to hear from some new artists and see their work!

I will be working through the curation process to identify what artworks will work in the spaces available.

It would be amazing to be able to go to everyone’s studio to see the work but alas the number of works required does not allow that. Instead I am working at my computer to sort through the submissions and their details.

Hey but I do love this bit!

Art Lease Project – Special Sale!

The Art Lease Project has recently secured the sale of Annie Johnson’s “Sea Life No.1”and the great team at Marshall Family Law had the honour of popping the red dot on the work!

All artworks leased for the project are available for sale, with the purchaser paying the artist direct and providing 20% sales commission to a charity chosen by the venues.

In this case Marshall Family Law have chosen to support the Albany Women’s Centre.

A win win all round!

Me! Nothing like a bit of self promotion.

Actually I dont think I know an artist who enjoys promoting themselves.

So I pretend I am working for an artist called Nat Rad

Art Lease Project – 17 collections!

Congratulations Great Southern Specialist Centre.

As the instigator and early adopter of the concept of leasing artworks for business, the centre has been both a personal support to my growth as a project manager but also a huge reason why the project has built over time.

This salute is extra special as the newly built East joins the West to show twenty-seven, yes, I will say it again…27 artworks! We celebrate the milestone of collection one in the East and collection seventeen in the West.

Huge effort!

No matter how big or small the business venue, The Art Lease Project has interesting artworks to make work better.

Thank you

Art Lease Project – Artwork changeover

We say goodbye and thank you to artists and their works of the last collection…..Hello new artworks!

I will feature a couple works a week here for you to explore more. Sales enquiries welcome.

Thank you to the venues Great Southern Specialist Centre, Marshall Family Law and the office of Rebecca Stephens and the Hon. Alannah MacTiernan for your continued support of the project.

The Art Lease Project has been operating since 2018. The projects objective is to facilitate an artwork loan arrangement between Great Southern Artists and business venues, coordinated by Nat Rad.

The local business lease the artworks from the artist for the duration of the display time with the ownership remaining with the artist. Artworks are available for sale with the purchaser paying the artist direct and providing 20% sales commission to a charity chosen by the leasing business.

The purchaser agrees to take ownership of the artwork/s purchased when the loan agreement ends.

Nat Rad manages the program through sourcing, installing and return of artworks, assisting with promotion and acting as the go between for sales to ensure all parties understand the transaction process and receive professional service.

Articles for Armistice

gARmenT 2022

Fabric, grease proof paper, rechargeable lights, windfall dried leaves and seeds.

“I have imagined a garment for a human who is connected and exposed to nature. A human who wears clothing that shows the real fragile nature of the body rather than armour. The transparency of grease proof paper has been pruposely used to show that skin is the fragile protector of the internal body. The heart light is visible beating through the chest, front and back as Collyn walks to an orginal soundscape, made up of recordings around Albany.” Nat Rad 2022

My selected work “Subdual”, oil on linen is the second work exploring a site on Mount Clarence Albany.

Have a look at the other selected works.

Art Lease Project – Farewell!

A huge thank you to Hon. Alannah MacTiernan and Rebecca Stephens for their support of the Art Lease Project.

The relationship started by a request to supply an work for their reception which ended up photo bombed the opening of the office!

Since 2021, I have had the pleasure of sourcing and installing 41 artworks over 6 collections in their shared office.

Some stats for you:

22 different local artists have supplied artworks

Through sale of artworks $3472 have been paid directly to artists

$868 from the 20% sales commission have supported Albany Roller Derby League and Kinjarling Marsupial Rescue

Our agreement has come to an end and I am very thankful for the opportunity and support provided by all staff.

Very proud of what has been achieved.

Best wishes for the future!
